Joram Muzira of JMM models on Friday was shocked to a special recognition award at the Abryanz style and Fashion Awards where he initially only attended to walk his models the run way. A surprised Joram shed tears of joy on receiving his “STAR MAKERS” awards at the awarding event.
“Being awarded a special recognition as a STAR MAKER was quite an emotional moment for me because it’s been a long journey transforming and fighting for models of color and pushing for more international representation of Fashion Models from Africa to the world stage.” A teary Joram revealed. Joram revealed he was delighted to have been part of the new generation that is changing the narrative of African Fashion and raising a new breed of working international fashion models, reason he started his company JMM.
Joram has over time groomed models currently working internationally, including Aamito Stacie Lagum who is best known for being the winner of the first season of Africa’s Next Top Model, Patricia Akello, and Paul Mwesigwa. Joram Muzira says the presence of his models on the international scene has changed the face of Ugandan modeling as people now realize that modeling is not only a hobby but can become a career.
