Hollywood actor Johnny Depp hopes his 15-month marriage to Amber Heard will be ended “quickly”.
The 52-year-old’s wife filed for divorce from him on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences, just three days after the death of his mother Betty Sue Palmer, and the star has now broken his silence on the couple’s split.
“Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life,” his representative said in a statement.
“Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”
The Pirates of the Caribbean star – who is estimated to be worth around $400 million – is said to have rejected the 30-year-old actress’ claim for spousal support.
Johnny’s $400 million net worth dwarves his ex and Rum Diary co-star Amber, and it’s been reported that the stars did not get a prenuptial agreement before they wed in February last year.
