John Tamale Mirundi, son of the late Joseph Tamale Mirundi, recently explained the reasons behind his brother Tamale Mirundi Jr.’s disownment by their clan elders.
In an interview with a local TV, John clarified that this decision was driven by the elders’ discontent with Mirundi Jr.’s disrespectful actions, not by the younger family members.
The primary issue arose from Mirundi Jr.’s offensive posts on social media, which were seen as direct insults to both the family and their clan.
One of the main targets of these insults was John Ssali, the elder brother of the late Joseph Tamale Mirundi.
John Tamale further revealed that after a crucial meeting with the Katikiro of Buganda, Mirundi Jr. escalated the situation by falsely claiming on social media that he had not been informed about the meeting.
He went on to make derogatory remarks about the meeting and its attendees, exacerbating tensions.
The breaking point came when Mirundi Jr. was summoned to a clan meeting to address his behavior. Instead of showing remorse, he allegedly acted arrogantly, refused to apologize, and left the gathering without showing proper respect to the elders.
