John Kato Ssenfuma, a teacher from Mityana, recently found himself entangled in a legal ordeal when he was detained earlier this week on charges of attempted defilement.
The incident unfolded as he allegedly entered a student’s home with intentions that raised serious concerns among the parents.
It was the vigilance of the girl’s relatives that led to his apprehension, as they promptly handed him over to the Kanyanya Police Station.
The gravity of the situation became apparent during a search, where authorities discovered two boxes of unused ‘Kiss’ condoms and Ugx 1,000 in Senfuma’s pocket.
These findings added weight to the accusations against him, solidifying the evidence of his purported intention to engage in inappropriate activities with the 15-year-old girl.
However, despite the initial suspicions and evidence, Senfuma was released yesterday evening due to a lack of sufficient proof linking him to any sexual misconduct with a minor.
Upon his release, a warm welcome awaited Senfuma as he reunited with his wife and other relatives.
They expressed their support by preparing a proper meal for him, signaling a mix of relief and continued familial backing.
