Renowned TV personality and top city emcee, JK Kazoora could be thrown in jail soon, we have learnt. This comes after he lost an appeal case in Rwanda in which he is accused of fraud.
Kazoora was convicted in 2014 for using fraudulent means to fleece his business partners, a decision he appealed. According to media reports in Rwanda, he has lost the appeal and the charges have been upheld and thus will have to serve a year in jail and pay damages amounting to Rwf15 million(about Ugx 64 Million).
In 2014, JK was dragged to courts in Rwanda over fraud after creating a parallel company named ‘Buddies TV Ltd’ which he used to win a juicy tender thereby undercutting his partners at Buddies Production (R) Ltd where he already owned 50 percent shares. The deal was about a second promotional campaign by Airtel Rwanda which was mistakenly handed to ‘Buddies TV Ltd’ instead of Buddies Production (R) Ltd that had produced the first campaign.
