Jennifer Lopez might already have herself a new man.
Just one week after news broke that Lopez split from dancer Casper Smart, whom she had been dating for more than two years, reports are now surfacing that the 44-year-old superstar is dating “Dancing With the Stars” pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
“They are friends and have been talking,” a source told People magazine. “I think they could [become a couple]. Who knows what will happen?”
Lopez and Chmerkovskiy, 34, met through her best friend, Leah Remini, who appeared on Season 17 of “DWTS.” The two later danced together at the 2013 American Music Awards, where she performed a tribute to Celia Cruz. They have kept in touch since then.
“Leah and Jennifer are best friends,” a source told E! News. “So as a group, they’re all very friendly. [Maks is] in India and [J.Lo’s] at the World Cup right now. Who knows what could happen down the road?”
The Huffington Post confirmed last week that Lopez and Smart broke up after two and a half years together. TMZ was the first to report the news, claiming they actuallysplit nearly two months ago. He is in the process of moving out of Lopez’s home, but they will remain friends.
