The highly anticipated Jazz Evening with Johnnie Walker is back for its closing edition of 2016 at Club Guvnor this Friday and will be headlined by guitar maestro, Myko Ouma.
Ouma is a renowned figure in the Jazz and contemporary world of music. After studying Western music at Makerere, he began exploring traditional Ugandan instrumentation.

Lois Aber, the Johnnie Walker Brand Manager says that Myko Ouma’s performance at the Jazz Evening is just the perfect ending to an amazing year of the brand’s partnership with the genre.

Proficient on a variety of distinctive traditional instruments, Ouma’s musical vision is to integrate Ugandan folk music and Jazz. As a guitarist, he has developed a unique playing style informed by the traditional rhythms and melodies of Ugandan roots music. He is an active producer both in studio and of live events.
It is without doubt that Ugandan revelers have finally absorbed the Jazz craze and come December 1, 2016, the genre’s sophisticated fans will be treated to a soulful and jazzy evening with an evergreen act in Ouma.
The genre’s fans will be treated to top tracks off his albums such as; Aluru, Paradise, One Day, Flash back, Immortal, Finally, among others. This evening, just like the previous ones will surely keep the audience on its feet dancing away to the sweet jazz tunes.
The Jazz Evening with Johhnie Walker has previously featured great artists including Ernest Otim performing music off his Book of Groovation album, Kiracho Njoroge performing music off his Love is Spelled T.I.M.E album, Kaz Kasozi performing music off his Star Shift album, and Charmant Mushaga performing music off his African Love album.
