Two-time National Rally Championship (NRC) winner Jas Mangat yesterday won the Kabale motor rally.
The Kabale rally was the second event of the seven race season championship with the first having been held in Mbarara.
The Mitsubishi Evo X driver won the two day race on a count of 2:15:43 beating Duncan Mubiru with almost five minutes after he finished at count of 2:21:15. Defending champion Arthur Blick came third with a time count of 2: 25: 58 and 10 minutes late compared to winner Jas Mangat.
Some drivers did not even enter day two of the rally and among these were, Desh Kananura, Christakis Fitidis and Adam Rauf among others in what they described as a very tough race because of the many sharp corners.
Despite not collecting a single point in the first event when he failed to complete the race, the win put Mangat in second place on the NRC table with 100 points while Ronald Ssebuguzi tops the log with 140 points having won the Mbarara event and finishing fifth in Kabale.
