Philanthropic Kenyan singer Jaguar has no apology to give over a statement he gave on Nigerian artiste Iyanya and the Nigerian showbiz industry in general early last year.
After the release of his One Centimeter remix video featuring Iyanya, the star came out fuming, firing shots at Iyanya whom he accused of being dishonest and trying to use Jaguar’s popularity to win fans across East Africa.
“Besides, I am not just ranting. Ask yourself why they have shows here yet no Kenyan artiste can be hosted in Nigeria. I have never had a show in Nigeria and I am not interested. Someone tell them that they can’t shut me out. And for that, I have no apology,” he maintained.
“I went to Nigeria and found that they are experiencing more problems than we do here. That is why they are looking for greener pastures by using other artistes from across Africa as their launching pad,” a perturbed Jaguar remarked.
He has since struck the word Nigeria from his vocabulary.
