Sheila Tusiime, a respected news anchor and CEO of Love & Lace Bridal, shared an empowering life tip for young people: “It’s okay to make mistakes.”
Sheila addressed the pressures many young people face, urging them to let go of the idea that life must follow a rigid, flawless path.
She explained that the journey to success doesn’t always have to be a straight line. “Growing up, we have this thing where life has to be perfect,” she noted.

“I have to excel at PLE, UCE, UACE, at university… I have to be the doctor, the lawyer, and follow a certain path.” However, she emphasized that life isn’t always as straightforward as A-Z. “Sometimes, we say it should be A-Z, but it could also be A-F, A-H.”
Through her words, Sheila encourages young people to embrace their own unique journeys and trust the process, even if it means taking detours or making mistakes.
She wants Gen Z to know that setbacks and uncertainties are part of growth, and they shouldn’t feel pressured to have everything figured out. Instead, they should take things slowly, be kind to themselves, and focus on progress over perfection.
