Itel mobile Uganda has launched her latest phone, itel A58 which will go for UGX 275,000/=. The launched phone will be available at all MTN service centres and for every phone purchased, owner gets 3GB free of data for 3 months.
Itel partnered with MTN in an initiative to accelerate smartphone penetration in Uganda.
The launch event was graced by itel brand ambassadors and singers, Spice Diana and Fik Fameica who handed over a brand new free itel A58 to a lucky journalist who emerged winner of a quiz. The event also featured comedians Maurana and Reign who entertained journalists with hilarious jokes.
The itel A58 comes with a 6.6″ High definition waterdrop full screen, 4000mAh battery, and a sleek beautiful design.
“Customers who buy itel devices and connect to MTN will automatically get free 3GB of MTN data monthly for 3 months, and 100% bonus on all the MTN data bundles that they purchase for 3 months.” Hellen Wabukaho, Training Manager, Itel Uganda revealed.
“The partnership is aimed at driving digital inclusion by attracting first time internet users. Itel will provide affordable internet-enabled devices while MTN shall support the device owners with free MTN data offers to keep them connected.” She added.
According to Henry Kijjo, itel Uganda’s Assistant Brand Manager, the company pays close attention to customers’ needs in a bid to provide products that make life easier and enjoyable.
“We pay close attention to our consumers’ needs, and we try our utmost best to provide products that will satisfy and make life easier to enjoy for them. Our latest product, the itel A58 series, is on par with what our consumers want, and we are sure that they will not be disappointed.” Kijjo said.
Speaking at the launch of the partnership, Somdev Sen, MTN Uganda’s Chief Marketing Officer noted that this partnership further demonstrates MTN’s commitment to drive its vision of delivering a bold new digital life to its customers.
“We envisage that by partnering with itel we shall spur digital inclusion through getting more Ugandans online. We believe thatgetting online and staying connected is helping transform every sector of our society from entrepreneurship to education, health and everything in between,” Somdev said, adding that the recent revision of MTN’s data pricing will make it easier for more first-time Internet users to stay connected more than ever before.
