Ugandans have officially been informed about the cost of the new East African passports. Ministry officials note that Ugandans don’t have to use third parties. They can pay UGX 400K to get an express passport.

The e-EAC Passport costs; UGX 250,000 for normal applications or UGX 400,000 for Express applications (UGX 250,000 for Ordinary Passports and UGX 150,000 as Express Service fee making the total of UGX 400,000)

Those are the only fees supposed to be paid and applicants are completely discouraged from engaging with third parties. Immigration does not deal with any third parties for any of their services
