Isaiah Katumwa, Myko Ouma and Swahili Nation to curtain raise for Kool & The Gang

Top Ugandan artistes have been selected to curtain raise at the upcoming Kool & The Gang concert in Kampala on the 12th November at the Kololo Airstrip Grounds.

Jazz sensation and Saxophonist Isaiah Katumwa, guitar maestro Myko Ouma and Hip Hop and R&B group Swahili Nation have been selected to perform at the Kool & The Gang concert.

Powered by Tusker Malt Lager and organised by Talent Africa and Silk Events, the concert will be a 70’s themed dress code event at the Kololo Airstrip Grounds in what will be the biggest disco themed production in Uganda’s history.

Isaiah Katumwa who is no stranger to performing alongside big name artistes, will be looking to lighten up the disco with his Saxophone blares. Being one of the engines behind the continued establishment of Jazz music as one of the leading genres in Uganda, he will be playing to thousands of Jazz lovers at the concert.

Myko Ouma is the other big name artiste who will be bringing his Jazz skills coupled with a touch of contemporary world music to the concert. “It will be a great moment for me. I grew up listening to Kool & The Gang and curtain raising for them is something that was beyond my imagination.” He said.

Sweden-based R&B and Hip hop music group, Swahili Nation, are also set to perform at the concert. Boasting of songs like; “Malaika”, “Nyama”, and “Hakuna Matata” which have earned the group a Channel O Music Awards nomination.

Commenting on the lineup, Tusker Malt Lager Brand Manager, Alex Tusingwire, said; “Isaiah Katumwa and Myko Ouma will bring the much needed Ugandan Jazz feel to the concert as Swahili Nation promise to give us a blend of Hip hop and R&B that will get our consumers grooving. At Tusker Malt Lager, our commitment is to deliver only the finest musical experiences to our consumers. Kool & The Gang live in concert will truly live up to its billing.”

Tickets will be sold in the Bronze, Silver and Gold categories. Bronze tickets are available at 150k, Silver Tickets at 250k and Gold VVIP tables are 5 million shillings a table.

Early bird tickets for the Kool & The Gang concert are selling at a 20% discount until the 24 th of October 24 th . Early bird tickets are available online at www.easyticket.co.ug and www.jumia.ug.

Tickets are also on sale at the Definition Shop in Acacia Mall, Liquid Silk in Bugolobi and Talent Africa/Yujo Restaurant in Nakasero.

Tusker Malt Lager is synonymous with some of the best afro musical acts in Uganda and through Kool & the Gang, consumers can expect a slightly different dimension but all the same a funky musical experience.

In line with its support for responsible drinking, Tusker Malt Lager will be maintaining a strict ‘over 18 only’ policy for sale of alcohol.
