It’s not very often that local football players get so emotional when leaving one club for another, whether that choice has been mad for them or not. However, the same cannot be said for left back Isaac Muleme who has officially left Nsambya based club Sports Club Villa.
The 23-year-old spared sometime to write an emotional farewell message to the SC Villa family.
“It is with a heavy heart that I confirm to you all SC Villa family that my time with Sports Club Villa is over. This decision has not come lightly and I know that I have disappointed many of you and I am sorry but I’m still a villa supporter,” reads part of the message posted on social media.
Muleme was one of the key and best players for the Jogoos last season, netting a few goals especially from set pieces and assisting on several occasions.
The versatile defender had also become a regular with the national team and also scored a lone goal for the Cranes recently during their regional tour to the Eastern part of the country.
“The time has come for me to move on and I swear to my father’s grave I am no longer and ready to give Villa my best this coming season. Every human being need to be respected but I am not going on spoiling someone’s career on social media with false information, why don’t you let people know the truth,” he further wrote.
Usually players leave one club for another due to an excellent performance that catches the attention of other big clubs to come calling, poor performance or indiscipline. It can be for other reasons.
At the moment, it’s not clear on why Muleme has really had to part ways with Villa but we are certainly sure it wasn’t about performance related or indiscipline.
“But thanks for the time I had with all my teammates, coaches, villa executives and not to be forgotten the fans. Long live S.C Villa Long Live project 2019.” He concluded.
