For a long time, musician Sheebah Karungi, who was recently crowned the HiPipo female artiste of the year, has dominated the music stage at least for the female artistes. But it seems it’s about time the old singers who once upon a time took control of the stage and wowed fans took over again.
As you have already read on this site, musician Iryn Namubiru is organizing a concert at Serena Hotel at the end of this year. The singer who has tried to blend with new artistes by doing different collabos like the one with Kalifah Aganaga called ‘We’re Their Problem’ dropped another one with a fresh Maro called ‘Addicted’ recently.
When she tested the waters with a show at Laftaz recently, she was shocked to find out that she actually has diehard fans who will pay to see her.
Now she has taken the game a notch higher and wants to dethrone the music queen at the moment, Sheebah Karungi. This, according to our insiders in her camp, will be done through the mega concert to be held at Serena before Christmas.
The 2011 Artiste of the Year Pearl of Africa Music Awards Awards seems to have come in full swing and she is taking no prisoners.
Sheebah on the other hand says she will do a concert when she is ready. Let’s see who long she will stay as the ‘QUEEN of the AREA.”
