In July, there was a scuffle between musicians Iryn Namubiru and Lyto Boss over the ‘Anjagala’ song. Iryn Namubiru said that she bought this song from Catherine Kusasira after being convinced by her that she had all the rights to the song. However, after releasing her audio, she was shocked to hear another version of the same song on radio. Attempts to resolve the matter amicably was futile and consequently a legal battle ensued.
Songbird Iryn Namubiru has now come out to explain why she dragged fellow musician Lyto Boss to courts of law. Iryn insists she has nothing personal against Lyto Boss but did it to protect her reputation.
She said, “I don’t have any problem with Lyto Boss but it seems that this boy had intentions of spoiling my name so I had to protect my name and image.”
Iryn added, “I called both Lyto Boss and Catherine Kusasira for peace talks but what pissed me off is that Lyto Boss came with journalists like Kasuku of Talk & Talk show on Dembe FM, Seguya of Bukkedde TV and Dj Jacob Omuttuuze and I decided to send my lawyers to represent me in the meeting but unfortunately Lyto Boss and his camp refused to talk with the lawyers which forced me to take another course of action.”
Irynbelieves that Lyto Boss wanted to ride on her fame to gain more popularity. It should be noted that Iryn Namubiru and Lyto Boss are still in court over the same issue.
We will keep you posted.
