So, who’s A-Pass, where and to whom was he born?

A Pass is by real name Bagonza Alexander born in Kampala to Mr. & Mrs Mutabazi who by then lived in Kisenyi (Ghetto Yard). A Pass is the second born in a family of 5 and is the first boy in the family.

2. How did the name A Pass come about?

The name A Pass came from far. I was nicknamed Percy which later changed to ‘Pass’ which later translated to A Pass because I wanted to add something to the ‘Pass’ name so I went with A standing for Alexander—my real name.

3. When did A Pass make a decision to join music and why?

I made a decision to join music way back in my senior one when I started writing my lyrics in my books during my free moments. That was the beginning of everything.

4. Speaking of music success, does the success of your songs surprise you? Is there any hidden secret to that success?

The success of my songs is no surprise to me because I believe in my craftsmanship and I am passionate about doing my work. It’s my hobby and am glad it is my career. The hidden secret is not really a secret—it’s just hard work, period!

Listen to A Pass’ Tetubatya  below:

5. Who are A Pass’s top 5 Ugandan music artistes?

I don’t have any top 5 Ugandan artists lined up to be honest, but I respect so many and their work.

6. You’ve written some songs for Bebe Cool, how did that happen?

Awww… That was so special because I used to listen to Bebe Cool when I was in school; to write for him songs was an honour. His manager approached me and gave me a task to write for the Boss and I took it on with pleasure because they met my terms and we worked.

7. How many Albums does A Pass have and when should we expect a launch?

A Pass has many albums, so many I can’t count. This year we should have a launch definitely, so help we Jah!

8. Is A Pass dating? If yes, who’s that special one?

A Pass tries so much to keep his girlfriend out of the media and he would not like to make her uncomfortable, but I love her to death and respect her so much.

9. Describe A Pass’ life philosophy? What’s your take on life and making it in life?

My Philosophy is out work and out think competition. I believe life is a beautiful thing and we should share it with others. Am already doing that in my own way through the music, and I encourage people to respect other people because in life you never know if it’s your last day so be good to others.

10. Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years? What legacy do you want to live? How does A Pass want to be remembered and for what exactly?

I see myself as a legend. And the biggest name in Africa. I want to be remembered as someone that changed the world through music.
