Nobody wants to be that person without anyone to talk to at a party. No one wants to be the person without anyone to talk to in life. Neither of those people have to be you. With a few things we have learned, you can make yourself more interesting:
1. Listen Up
There are a lot more people who want to be heard than there are people who want to listen. Train yourself to actually hear what girls have to say and you’ll always be the kind of person that other people want to have around. It actually makes people happier to feel like someone cares about what they have to say. What’s more, listening means you’ll pick up lots of interesting things that you can share later.
2. Less is More
There is an old quote that says brevity is the source of wit. For the most part, that holds true: If you are going to be loud and not give a girl space in a conversation, you are going to seem obnoxious no matter how charming you really are. A well timed response or a cutting remark will make you seem much more sophisticated than being a loudmouthed oversharer.
3. It’s Not Just What You Say, It’s How You Say It
It’s scientifically proven that you are more interesting when you say things passionately. Your body language plays a big part in this. Socializing is like a performance. Changing your tone of voice, gesturing and making facial expressions make your conversations much more interesting than your words will. If you want girls to find you interesting, be animated when you speak.
4. Back Up Plans
If you wander into a social situation with nothing to say, don’t expect to be interesting to girls. Make sure that you have a few good topics of conversation ready when you head out to a date. You don’t have to be an expert in them, but make sure you get the point of the story. Try to pick topics that you are sure would appeal to other people.
5. This is Important—Don’t Bore People
Don’t be boring. If you follow the previous four tips you should be okay. Another way to avoid being boring is to take cues from the people around you. If no one is interested in what you’re saying, it’s not a good idea to keep on talking because you’ll never win them over. It’s okay to wrap up what you have to say, even if you think you have more to add, if it means not putting everyone around you to sleep…
