With their bosses all fired in the same week, Ibrahim Kirya and Kefa Kisala all stepped out yesterday eager to impress in their new roles as interim head coaches at Sports Club Villa and Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club respectively.
The Jogoos travelled to Bugembe stadium in Jinja hoping to return to winning ways and did not disappoint as Ambrose Kirya struck to give the visitors a narrow 1-0 win over Sadolin Paints as they started the post Antonio Flores era.
The victory lifted SC Villa to 11th place on the table with 11 points from eight games, just a spot below Sadolin who have collected 12 points from 10 matches.
Meanwhile, URA travelled to Kakindu stadium where they edged JMC Hippos by 2-1 as they began their post Moses Basena era.
The Tax Collectors are 9th on the log with 12 points after nine matches. JMC are still 5th with 14 points from a similar number of games.
