In an exclusive interview with BBS TV, vocalist Vivian Mimi made a bold statement with her announcement that she would delay her return to her hometown Masaka until she secures enough financial stability to support her artistic vision.

“I’m holding off on my Masaka return until I have the resources to make it truly count,” Mimi revealed.

This statement ignited a flurry of reactions from both fervent supporters and skeptical observers.

Mimi emphasized, “I’m resolute on going back to Masaka with a bang, showcasing my latest creations and bringing pride to my friends and family. Until then, I’ll be stationed in Kampala, honing my craft and cementing my reputation as a revered artist.”

While some lauded Mimi’s unwavering commitment to her craft, others voiced concerns over her perceived prioritization of financial gain over her roots.

Mimi’s refusal to return to Masaka has raised questions about the financial struggles faced by artists in Uganda and the challenges of maintaining a creative career.
