Following Aisha Nabukeera’s participation in Miss Uganda beauty contest, many have suggested Frank Gashumba could have cajoled her into joining the pageant.
However, Gashumba has denied claims that he advised Aisha to contest for Miss Uganda. While speaking on one of the local radio stations, he said that all he did was to sign on the papers after she picked and brought them to him.
He added that he was surprised to find out that majority of the people against Aisha’s participation in Miss Uganda were from slums like Kiwunya, Katanga, and Kiyaye.
“Such people will always remain in such conditions because as they keep discussing Aisha, she is thinking of owning a house in Kololo. Have you ever heard of mob justice in Kololo? Have you ever found anyone hawking ‘Mulondo’ in Kololo? No. These are found in slum areas,” Gashumba said.
He concluded by laughing at haters accusing him of misappropriating the money that was earlier raised by NGOs and well-wishers to help Aisha saying that he would have responded to them in a most suitable way if he wasn’t on air.
