Davido

It has been the slowest year ever for Davido, and now, the ‘Aye’ singer admits that he does not deserve any nod from music award organisations this year.

“I really shouldn’t be nominated this year,” the singer tweeted yesterday, adding, “For what??”

The admittance came after a fan tweeted about the recently published list of artistes nominated for the 2016 MTV Music Video Awards. Some of the stars who made the list include Flavour N’abania, Olamide and Wizkid.

And so upset that Davido didn’t make the cut, the fan took to Twitter to rant. “Sum of these artist only got nominated because @iam_Davido left the scene for 8months to work on new project wiv Sony/RCA .”

And Davido had the smart riposte coming. He, however, added that next year will be a tough one: he is set to drop his long-awaited album which had been on hold since he landed the deal with Sony BMG.

“I got three MAMAS in two years I’m good,” he said of his previous accolades. And then made the threat, “BUT NEXT YEAR..”
