Popular for his ‘Embooko’ song, musician Master Blaster died today in Bwaise next to Eden night club.
The singer who had gone silent musically for a long time and was allegedly addicted to drugs passed on last night after he was shot.
According to an eye witness, the owner of Eden bar organized a party last night to thank South Sudanese nationals who live in Bwaise for supporting his business throughout 2015.
At the party, Master Blaster was one of the guest performers who had been invited.
“The party was going on well, everyone was having fun then one of the ‘rastas’ got a random woman to dance with. But he didn’t know that this woman belonged to one of the South Sudanese nationals. When he was asked to leave the woman, he refused and this is when things got ugly,” a source who was at the party says.
“At this time, the Sudanese went to his car which was parked outside, he grabbed his gun and came back inside spraying bullets at everyone. Master Blaster tried to stop the fight since his fans adore and listen to him. In no time we saw him landing down never to wake up again. He had been hit by a stray bullet,” the source added.
Speaking about the death of their star, some Bwaise residents had no kind words for the foreigners. Some called upon the President to intervene.
“We want to know the truth of what happened President Museveni should come out and help us. These Sudanese are killing us day and night. We are tired of these killings. We are tied of these people finishing us in our own country,” said one of the Bwaise residents.
“Police says they killed him, but they are lying they should help us find the truth. We Ugandans are like foreigners in our own country, why are they protecting the Sudanse and leaving us unprotected. We are tired,” another resident added.
Today has seen many Bwaise residents in the streets as they demonstrated against the Sudanase and even went ahead to fight some of them. Some demonstrated with sticks and placards saying that they want to kill every Sudanese in the vicinity. Had it not been for the Police, a blood bath would have ensued.
Kawempe police spokesperson, couldn’t comment on the matter as he was busy stopping the violence against southern Sudanese. He however confirmed that Master Blaster was killed at the party held at Eden last night.
