With speculations amounting that Edith Mutoni died of AIDS-related complications, our undercover reporters have gone around and revealed that actually this is just a tip on the iceberg. “Many Ugandan celebrities are HIV positive but they have lived in denial, some are so ashamed to go for anti-retroviral treatment,” says a big name in the music industry.
According to our reporters, there are some music groups that have been so hit by HIV/AIDS and this includes, Firebase Crew headed by President Bobi Wine and Eagles Band among others.
Others claim that Video vixens are responsible for the spread of the virus in the industry. Because they earn very little for their appearance in music videos, many are swayed off by the music artistes who feature in these videos to sleep with them for a fee. And since most of these artistes are usually high on drugs, they rarely use protection.
“Most Ugandan music artistes are HIV-positive, if a law was passed for public testing and declaring of results, you will be shocked,” says a Video vixen who proudly claimed to be HIV positive.
Edith Mutoni for example whom many claim died of AIDS related complications was a very close girlfriend to Coco Finger, he had also been earlier linked to Emma Carlos during her stints as a Wafagio Group member (another group many claim has not survived the HIV/AIDS storm). There is also another big name in the industry, among the big four who cheated on his wife/girlfriend with Edith Mutoni.
There is a long sexual network in the music industry that it’s now impossible to know who’s HIV positive and who’s negative.
“Most of these celebrities, when they discover that they are positive, they decide to keep quiet about their illness and before long the HIV progresses into AIDS and then they die of some skin cancer,” says an Eagles Band member.
The Video vixens have also been spreading the HIV in revenge when they find out that someone maliciously infected them. “It’s very easy to bang a video vixen, for every video that’s shot at night, with alcohol involved, the men sleep with all the video vixens, it’s like a sex orgy of sorts,” says one of the people who’s ever been at a video shoot.
