Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament, Hon. Betty Nambooze, has urged those managing the affairs of the late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya to handle the ongoing paternity dispute with care and respect for his religious beliefs.
Speaking out following shocking DNA results released last month, Hon. Nambooze questioned the legitimacy of claims that some of the children presented are not biologically linked to the late legislator.
“If you claim the children are not of the late Ssegirinya, then you must tell us who their father is,” she stated firmly during an interview on Sanyuka TV.
“I urge those responsible for Ssegirinya’s affairs to handle them in accordance with his religious beliefs.”
The public was stunned when DNA test results showed that out of the nine children brought forward as the late MP’s offspring, only four were confirmed to be his biological children.
This revelation has sparked widespread discussion and controversy across the country.
Hon. Ssegirinya, who served as the Kawempe North Member of Parliament, passed away earlier this year.
His sudden death was followed by disputes over inheritance, family rights, and now, questions surrounding the paternity of children previously believed to be his.
Leaders and members of the public have since called for unity, sensitivity, and respect as the late MP’s family continues to navigate these difficult matters.
