This after top musicians Lydia Jazmine, Beenie Gunter and rapper JWats pumped up campusers at an invite only party in Gulu.

The party organised by MTN Pulse saw Gulu University campusers entertained to the fullest from the fine musicians.

It all started with JWats who received a lukewarm applause after his stage performance. This prompted Hypeman to ask the crowd to cheer for him again because rap is also a genre that must be appreciated.

Things changed when Beenie Gunter came on stage clad in yellow. His music sent the campusers in an uncontrollable dance session. Some tried to grab him when he got close to the fans. He pumped them up real good.

The party took an even more unexpected turn when the all beautiful and talented Lydia Jazmine took to the stage. The sexy singer also clad in yellow showed off her dance moves, vocal ability and engaged well with the crowd. Jazmine confessed that this was her first performance in Gulu at Smiling Panda and she loved it.

Jackie Chandiru made an appearance amidst chants from fans as DJ Dash took it away till morning.

The party was lit.

The 27 year old DJ was playing at Kyambogo university when the fracas started. This was at the Smirnoff A fresh bite on life party.

Apparently, the DJ was supposed to perform for a limited time only and leave the stage for artistes to perform.

However, when it was Gravity Omutujju’s time to perform, the DJ was just getting started scratching his disks and getting partiers dancing.

This did not go down well with rapper Gravity who threw a bottle at him before a fight ensued.

DJ Cizza who released a tune called Bad Energy with Cosign last year rushed to twitter to express his utter disgust with the rapper.

He said; “Aye! @GravityOmutujju threw a bottle at me a few hrs ago – had to get escorts & shit for fear of his kadeyideyis – Wow! I love UG 🇺🇬 music but not at that expense – F*ck Off !! We can move without that. Playing at KYU University again ?! Was so very excited but wah – Never again!”

Although he attracted sympathy from fans, some were hostile to him for refusing to get off stage when his time was done.

One of the partiers at the party told us that as soon as he got on stage some of his bayayes started pick pocketing from the unsuspecting crowd.

This is not the first time Gravity was involved in such a brawl. At one time, the rapper who got shot at recently, was beaten up by security at Uganda Broadcasting Corporation for similar behaviour.

Gravity will be in Gulu today to entertain his fans.

We are yet to hear from Gravity. We will keep you posted.

The Amakula Film Festival, which is now in its 12th edition, kicked off on Friday afternoon at the Uganda Museum with the screening of acclaimed Ugandan feature film, “Kony – Order From Above”.

Based on actual happenings, the movie tells a story of two youth, Otti and Aguti who fall in love during the tumultuous northern Uganda Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) insurgency. They are however separated when Otti is abducted at age 11. When they are finally later reunited after she is also abducted, Kony picks interest in Aguti and makes her his wife. Otti is then tasked with the security of Kony’s latest wife Aguti, leaving him torn between loyalty to the rebel cause and his love for her.

Directed by Ayeny T. Steve, the movie also highlights the atrocities committed by warlord Kony in northern Uganda.

The opening day also saw the screening of different short films and documentaries, before later concluding with a drive-in cinema where feature films, “Veronica’s Wish” and “Five Fingers for Marseillies” were screened.

According to Polly Kamukama, the festival curator, this year’s selection features 19 Ugandan titles out of the total 35 films that will be screened during this year’s festival.

“The festival is looking to solidify its reputation as a true champion of Ugandan cinema by dedicating a significant chunk of its program to local films and filmmakers.” Polly Kamukama explained.

The festival will run until Sunday, March 17, and will be crowned off with the Golden Impala Awards where the best films from across the continent will be recognised in five categories including the Best Uganda Feature Film.
