With high hopes among Cranes’ fans for Uganda to qualify for the first time for the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations since 1978, Guinea had no mercy as they condemned Uganda to 2-0 defeat at the Complexe Mohammed, Casablanca Morocco to deny them yet another chance of qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations that is due January 17th 2015 in Equatorial Guinea up to 8th Feb 2015.
It was as if a contract between the Uganda Cranes and the fans had been breached given their very angry comments that they aired out after the game.
An anonymous fan at a congregation said that “Team captain Andrew Mwesigwa should retire from his national team career,” after that blunder that cost the team a second goal when he caused a penalty in the second half and worse having himself sent off the pitch leaving the team down to ten men.
While another was arguing that Andy Mwesigwa should retire from the national team, another furious fan said that “head coach Micho shouldn’t return to Uganda but should rather find his way to the neighbouring country of Kenya.”
However some football diehards were heard saying that “maybe next time” and continued to suggest that the team be rebuilt with the Sentamu generation along with other youngsters.
