Herman Wasswa - KCCA

By James Robert Kayindi

Pedestrian striker Herman Wasswa scored the only goal of the game as KCCA edged Lweza fc to send the league defending champions into this year’s finals of the Uganda Cup.

The 1-0 result at Wankulukuku stadium on Sunday evening sent the Kasasiro Boys into their 15th record final of the Uganda Cap on a 2-0 aggregate after Herman Wasswa repeated his scoring history against the Kajjansi Boys.

Wasswa scored the one goal during the first leg at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo that gave KCCA the advantage going into the second leg.

KCCA will be in a hunt for their ninth Uganda Cup crown as well as fight for a slot at next season’s CAF confederations Cup.

The winner of the annual tournament earns a direct slot at the continental annual competition of the CAF confederations Cup in which Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) played before being ejected by South Africa’s Orlando Pirate. The final will be played in Ntungamo, Western Uganda.

KCCA XI: Benjamin Ochan (GK), Sakka Mpiima (C), Timothy Awani, Ibrahim Kizza, Simon Namwanja, Hakim Ssenkumba, Ivan Ntege, William Wadri (Owen Kasule), Tom Masiko (Baker Lukooya), Joseph Ochaya and Herman Wasswa (Paul Mucureezi)
