Gone are the days when Ugandan men suffered the circumcision knife in pain, or after being injected with aesthetics a number of times.

Government has already begun rolling out a new procedure that involves no blood shed whatsoever, let alone the use of the knife. It’s the best so far, and the best for years to come.

Walter Reid Project, a US-based medical organisation is supporting the programme which has already rolled out in various health centres.

Prepex also saves men from the high risks involved in the traditional circumcision procedure due to unsterilized environments and the likes.

In my own words;

“Just been looking at the new Circumcision Procedure code-named “Prepex” or “Rubber-band Circumcision.”

It’s so painless, no blood shed, not even the slightest of discomforts. And goodness, it’s very accurate. Forget the traditional circumcision procedure where they have to inject you on that guy.

This goes to show the power of Thoughtful, meticulous planning and engineering.

So if you have not yet faced the knife, don’t even bother facing it, the new way is the real deal.

A rubber-band like thing is simply inserted, it blocks off blood to the foreskin and after 7 days, that part of the fore-skin just drops off…. voila you are circumcised.”

The simple device – two plastic rings and an elastic band – cuts off blood supply to the foreskin, which then shrivels and is removed with the band after a week.

“I felt nothing, not even a little discomfort,” Igalla said after a procedure taking just minutes, noting there was no blood – unlike traditional circumcision where the foreskin is sliced off by knife- thus reducing the risk of infection.

So for the men who didn’t rush for the first procedure, the better one is here. You don’t even have to wait for six months to have sex like in the previous procedures, here, the moment, the band is removed, the games begin.

Guess, patience pays.
