 The HiPipo Music Awards (HMA) is proud to stride into its illustrious twelfth year and is excited to present the official 2023 nominations. The grand awards night is set to take place on Friday, 17th November, at the luxurious Kampala Serena Hotel.

Having established itself as a beacon of musical excellence in Africa, the HiPipo Music Awards has been at the forefront of celebrating and promoting the continent’s most exceptional talents. Over the years, it has been instrumental in uplifting and giving due recognition to countless artists.

This year, HiPipo has unveiled thirteen diverse categories that spotlight a vast expanse of talents. These span the dynamic Ugandan musical landscape, reach out to the broader East African horizons, and encompass the vibrant African continent.

Innocent Kawooya, CEO of HiPipo, expressed his enthusiasm; “The unveiling of the 2023 HMA nominations is a testament to the richness of African music. We are now calling upon all music enthusiasts to cast their votes for their favourite acts and artists. This is a celebration of the soundtracks of our lives from October 5th, 2022, to October 5th, 2023.” 

Adding to this, he mentioned; “Our past ceremonies have showcased stellar performances, and this year promises even more dazzle. Stay tuned for the list of performers. But, for now, let’s ensure our favorite artists get the spotlight they deserve by voting for them.”

Voting is open until 6:00PM on November 17th. Once the voting period concludes, the stage will be set for hours of anticipation, leading up to the grand announcement of the winners on the same night.
