Hellen Lukoma is one of Uganda’s fashion designers that has taken the industry to a whole new level. She is a multi-talented beauty that has appeared on several celebrity scenes.
She used to be one of the sensational singers and dancers of the former obsession girls group, later formed HB toxic group which was signed under Talent Africa but also later dissolved for solo careers. She has been seen in the popular NTV series – The Hostel, as one of the main actresses.
Lately, she has ventured into fashion collection which she started at the close of last year and it is turning out to be a huge success for her.
As an actress, Lukoma has had run-ins with her directors over what costume she is supposed to wear.
In her fashion career, Hellen launched her shop, House of Lukoma (HOL), a clothing shop in which she expresses her style by collecting clothes and matching them to suit her and other people’s tastes. It is situated at Mabirizi complex which has seen popular celebrities and fashion stars come in and go out on a daily basis. Hellen apparently does most of her shopping from UK and USA.
The former obsessions girl has lately been caught by our cameras dressed as a tom boy; the likes of Ciara and Missy Eliot as she if she was miming Beyonce’s “like a boy” hit. She is engaged to fellow actor Dean Nsubuga.
Hellen says she wants House of Lukoma fully grown with branches across the country and beyond boarders and she will definitely cross the boarders.
