Musician Harriet Kisakye had a lot of friends in the music industry before she died back in 2015. But this could not be seen as only a handful of people showed up at her memorial service held on Monday this week.
Of all the musicians who were her friends, only Haruna Mubiru showed up to pray for her soul and collect some money to do final touches on her grave.
The family had prepared a large area of the church in the front part for fellow musicians to come and pray for her soul but they didn’t show up disappointing the family.
One of the family members was heard asking, “what did our gal do to these musicians? Not even a handful has shown up for her service? People are bad.”
Harriet Kisakye died at International Hospital Kampala (IHK) last year after a long ailment. The singer is famous for songs like Kinigeria and Gyenvudde.
She was born in Kayunga Town council Wakiso District to Charles Musisi and the late Lilian Namwangye. She attended St. Joseph Nansana Primary School and St. Augustine’s College Wakiso. By the time she passed on, she had political aspirations.
We will keep you posted.
