“Inabana”, a Harmonize song which featured Eddy Kenzo brought a lot of confusion in East Africa, as Jose Chameleone also released his own version without Kenzo, right after the official one was let out by Harmonize. The three all played the blame-game, with everyone claiming innocence, and in the end, no one was bold enough to apologize for the ruckus.
With Chameleone claiming he was disrespected as Harmonize kept sending him to his manager instead of finishing up plans directly with him, and Eddy Kenzo saying he received the song from Harmonize and wasn’t told that Chameleone was once on it, the burden was now on Konde Boy to clear the air on what really happened.
At the release party of his new song “Uno” at Club Guvnor, Harmonize performed their version with Kenzo, together on stage, and surprisingly, hours later he posted a video of Chameleone arriving in his hotel room, with Kenzo recording vocals, and Daddy Andre seated gracefully on a laptop – probably handling the production. Harmonize kept singing Chameleone’s praises with flatteries like,
“Legend! The best musician in East Africa” and Jose smiled on.
This is clear that they are now good with each other, and since Harmonize just paid off Wasafi 500 Million Tanzania shillings to terminate his contract with them and start his own Label: Konde Music Worldwide, we are positive there won’t be any more management bureaucracy; and we can’t wait for a collabo between these three talents to drop.
