Hariss International Limited, the manufacturers of Riham Products, have donated UGX 500 Million Shillings to the Ministry of Education and Sports to support the recovery of educational sector following the reopening of schools after nearly two years of lockdown.
This contribution comes in response to a call from the First lady and Minister of Education and sports; Mrs. Janet Museveni, requesting entities to support the government ahead of reopening and recovering of the sector.
The cheque was handed over by the Director of sales and marketing, Mr. Chadi K. Ahmad to John Chrysostom Muyingo; Minister for Higher Education, and Joyce Moriku Kaducu; Minister for state of primary Education, during a meeting held at the Education Ministry offices in Kampala on Wednesday.
Dr. Chrysostom Muyingo appreciated all the entities that contributed and assured the public that the support granted will be directed and used for the purpose for which it has been given.
“As Hariss International, this was a great opportunity for us since education transformation has always been at the core of our operations. We highly believe that the amount we contributed will facilitate the recovery of the education sector that was under lockdown for two years.” Chadi K. Ahmad said while handing over the cheque.
“We therefore, encourage other cooperations to also join the cause in supporting Uganda’s grappling education system.” He added.
