Rapper J.Cole released a surprise live album Wednesday to celebrate his 31st birthday.
“History turned into an album. Forest Hills Drive Live available now,” the “No Role Modelz” singer announced on Twitter. “What a year. Hip hop deserves a live album.”
Consisting of 13 tracks, the live project was recorded during a live show in Fayettevill, N.C. which is also featured in the HBO documentary, Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming.
The new album, which was personally gifted to a select few fans before the announcement according to Billboard, includes all the songs from the Grammy-nominated record. Three of the rappers prior hits “Lights Please,” “In The Morning” and “Nobody’s Perfect,” were also included.
