He strums his guitar for a livelihood. I know that does sound so fancy and doesn’t attract clatter like some other mainstream artistes who position themself infront of the mic. Knock. knock. The guy in mention is a certain Statistian by the moniker of Myko Ouma.(For some reason he decides to spell his name Michael like that)
Myko Ouma and Isaiah Katumwa have led an exclusive crop of artistes who have cut a niche as instrumentalists and thrived at it.The former is a guitar maestro and the Katumwa genius has been oozed through the saxophone.
Ouma was formerly in the background strumming in classics like, Juliana’s runaway hit Sanyu Lyange and a host of others. A round of applause befits a man of such talent that has underlined his status as Uganda’s leading guitarist. I would answer in the affirmative if asked who the best guitarist is.
Just recently, he decided to take a new path that required him to take a more central role and coming out of the background to release material like the electro-techno, The Club Banger which also features wordsmith – The Enygma.
Last year, he held his debut concert dubbed the Myko Ouma Season One Concert and this year he takes us into a sequel of his concerts with Myko Ouma Season Two at Kati Kati this Saturday 14th September. So go get blown away by this guy.
