Guinness Night football excites Kampala football lovers

Guinness Uganda went all out on Saturday night as they introduced Uganda to the first ever Guinness Night football experience that took place at the Forest Mall Parking in Lugogo.

The night saw revelers indulge in their passion for football, creating teams and going all out to win prizes in a range of football activities played out in the dark and enhanced by colorful neon UV and lighting technology to make the experience vibrant, immersive and memorable.

The night included activities like Five A-side football, Table Foosball, skills challenges like “Mirundi” and Head games but it was the human foosball that drew out the revelers competitive sides drawing in the fun throughout the night with eight teams qualifying for the finals that will be held in Kampala on December 7.

The teams that qualified and are now a step closer to heading to Nigria include C-Club, Naguru United, Sona, Sound boys, soccer rooz, Team 13, Mpala AFC, Jabulani and Winner FC.

“Guinness Night Football is not your everyday football; we are bringing the party and the fun to the game of football and tonight has been a testament that we are made of more, creating football with a Guinness touch. It has been an amazing night all I can say is look out for our next stop, it’s going to be huge,” said Cathy Twesigye Guinness Brand Manager, Uganda Breweries Limited.

The event also featured a performance from Bebe Cool who got revelers onto their feet and on the dance floor as he performed his hit songs like wire wire, Nkuliyo among others.

Designed out of conventional football, the Guinness Night Football series will take revelers and football fans on an action-packed night experience that will be traversing the country in unexpected and fun football activities that will give players and fans a chance to get involved in an extraordinary experience with the games moving to Fortportal next month.

Tanzania’s Harmonize and Eddy Kenzo light up moods at Guvnor

Kampala life eaters were on Saturday night graced with an electrifying performance as ‘Konde Boy’ Harmonize performed at his Uno listeners’ party that was held at Industrial Area-based night spot Guvnor.

The Bongo flava artiste who performed the crowd’s favourite hits like Inabana left the fans yearning for more, prompting the self-proclaimed love nigga president Eddy Kenzo to ask him to perform four more songs.

“My brother Eddy Kenzo is the King of East Africa, he has done great things,” said Harmonize.The two music giants Eddy Kenzo and Harmonize also pulled off an exciting performance of their popular ‘Inabana’ and ‘Pull up’ songs as Ciroc bottles were popped in the house.

“Uganda loves you. Show them what you are capable of. Sing for them more songs,” Kenzo said when Harmonize handed him the microphone.An excited reveller who couldn’t seem to have enough of Harmonize kept splashing money on the bona fide star as she danced with him.

“At Ciroc we believe in celebrating life, celebrating success and the Saturday Night Fever with a star like Harmonize is a true definition of a celebration,” Said Annette Nakiyaga, Head of Luxury Portfolio, UBL.

American pop star Jidena confirmed for two shows in Kampala come December

Last night American artist Jidenna was revealed as the headlining international act for two of Kampala’s most anticipated events, Ciroc’s Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs) and the Tusker Malt sponsored Blankets and Wine’s end of year finale 2019.

The revelation was officially announced by Talent Africa Boss, Aly Alibhai during the ASFAs Nominees Release ceremony held at Kingdom Kampala.

The Classic Man star will be making his way into the party central of Kampala for the two events slated to take place subsequently on Friday, December 13 and Sunday, December 15.

The Cîroc sponsored event, ASFA 2019 has been designed to be the most star studded ASFAs under the theme ‘The Stars.’ The iconic fashion event which will take place at the Kampala Serena Hotel in December will also host Ghanaian born British fashion icon, Ozwald Boateng known for his trademark twist on classic British tailoring and bespoke style.

“Jidenna stands out as a profound fashion forward artist worldwide. Both Jidenna and Ozwald have used their stardom to push African fashion beyond borders and we are glad to be hosting them this year,” said Brian Ahumuza, Founder ASFAs. 

Jidenna, born Jidenna Theodore Mobisson, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer of Nigerian descent. His two singles, “Classic Man” and “Yoga”, brought him immense success. He is currently signed to Wondaland Records under Janelle Monae.

With December a few weeks away, Kampala’s thrill seekers are already anticipating a turn up in full swing with the two events promising to be the ‘litest’ events. For those who will not have had enough of Jidenna at ASFAs, the 24th edition of the picnic themed music festival, Blankets and Wine will surely be a must-attend with guaranteed fun for many of the city’s socialites and music lovers.

As President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni visited Katwe Ghettos to talk with the people, Lil kid ( Pastor Omurasta) also didn’t miss out as he gave him a thrilling experience.

After Museveni officially appointing local artistes Catherine Kusasira and Buchaman as his presidential advisors on Kampala Affairs and Ghetto Affairs respectively, even the young rapper Lil Kid was invited over to give Museveni a touch of his rap magic.Dressed in an all yellow outfit with a big hat on his head to imitate that of President Museveni, Lil Kid also went ahead and held the Golden Hand of the President before walking away with a fat envelope that put a smile on President Museveni’s Face.Lil Kid went ahead and performed some of his biggest songs like; Bali Bali and Mpa Njitulemu and of course also gave in some of his famous prayer lines.
