The sudden death of National Social Security Fund (NSSF) staff member Jean Kiconco has shocked the nation after she passed away during childbirth.

Kiconco who was known by many as social and friendly died last evening at Case Clinic in Kampala as she was brought at the medical facility to give birth to her first born only to die from the theater where she was being operated.

According to one of her relatives, Kiconco preferred the caesarean section but could not get out alive and even the baby did not survive.

Many of her friends on social media have expressed their grief by sending condolence messages to her family including Ugandan blogger based in Sweden, Kakensa Henry who described her as one of her loyal followers.

“She had a baby shower last week, today she is gone. Life is very unpredictable. One of my followers Jean Kiconco has passed away while giving birth. Her blood pressure shot up and her pancreas burst. They couldn’t save her neither the baby. Rest in Peace,” posted Kakensa.

A funeral service will be held today at St. Andrew’s Church, Bukoto and thereafter her body will be taken to Rubare, Ntugamo where she will be laid to rest on Friday.
