Startimes arch rival, GoTv Africa has thrown warning statements to them warning them about the introduction of Pornography channels in their basic bouquet.
According to Tina Wamala, the Public Relations Officer Multichoice Uganda, “If our competitors are launching pornography, it is maybe because they have done some small research but in the past, we used to offer that kind of thing which sparked off an outcry that the content was immoral. This explains why GOtv introduced parental guide and language edit which allows our customers to block a given channel on both DStv and GOtv so as to manage the content that can be accessed by their children as well as their minors.”
“The #SamsungTwitterParty is back! Get ready to party the night away come 19th December at Zone 7 with fellow tweeps. Entrance is 15,000shs. Call 0775439894 for details. Great music and drinks.”
She, however, noted out the importance of such to the pay TV industry which is the major driving force and source of attraction to the viewers. “It’s an interesting strategy on their side but we believe we have enough content to rival their pornography because we cater for all viewers, for all age groups, demographics and for gender.”
We are yet to find out the reaction from StarTimes management so keep it Bigeye.ug for the latest of this.
