News reaching our desk is that renown Gospel singer and National Culture Forum executive member, Wisdom Kaye has been arrested.
According to a tweet by the National Culture Forum, Wisdom was arrested on Wednesday in Luwero for yet to be disclosed reasons.
“It’s true Kaye Wisdom was yesterday arrested in Luwero. Mr. Kaye is a Gospel Artist, and a member of the National Culture Forum – NCF.” the tweet read. “Info about the cause of his arrest is still scanty we have assembled a fact-finding team as of this morning. We shall keep you posted.“
The National Culture Forum is an apex body for all associations and federations operating in the arts, culture and creative industry of Uganda.
Its primary mandate includes advocating and lobbying for the Culture and Creative Industries and contributing to the implementation of Uganda’s cultural policy.
Wisdom Kaye is a Contemporary artist, Vice President Federation of Gospel Artists Uganda, National Coordinator Artists Trade Union, Executive Member National Culture Forum.
In the recent past, Wisdom has been a recurrent figure in the media discussing issues regarding Ugandan musicians and the government relationship.
