Gorreth Mary Nagganja, Miss Tourism Buganda was selected recently to represent the pearl Of Africa, Uganda in the Miss East Africa Beauty Competitions that will be hosted in Dar es salaam, Tanzania on the 17th of December 2021.
Miss East Africa is an annual competition with the strategic remit to empower women, Tourism, and The African Culture. The pageant will feature over 16 countries including – Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Malawi, Somalia, Mauritius, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Comoros, reunion, Seychelles, Djibouti, Madagascar, and Eritrea.
Gorreth holds a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering and has been working in tech since 2018. She currently works with Lyca Mobile Uganda.
Gorreth is passionate about girl child empowerment, aspiring young girls to take on roles in male-dominated fields. She aspires to advocate for girls affected by teenage pregnancies, availing them with opportunities, a platform, and a second chance at education.
Queen Gorreth started her Ambassadorial duties recently as a tourism queen under the Miss Tourism Buganda Organization Managed by Nsubuga Ronnie who is also her manager.
Gorreth was born in Masaka district and is the 3rd of seven children. She has an art appreciation and loves to swim.
