Google Search for Android has just received a new feature for Google Now that allows users to set reminders – for events, tasks and more – using just voice commands.

It’s worth noting that the voice reminder feature has been present on Google Now for Android for a while; however, until now a user in order to set the reminder needed to confirm details such as – when and where the reminder should activate – by tapping the screen. Android Police reports that the new feature for Google Now will let users’ confirm the request for reminder by just saying “Yes” or “No”.

Notably, Google Now’s new true voice setting for reminders has started rolling out, and should be available gradually globally. The new feature is reportedly already present in the app, and will be activated on its own.

The new Google Now reminder feature has not reached India as of yet, as when we tried to place a reminder request, the prompt for when and where appeared and one had to be touch-selected for the reminder to be set.

In addition, Google has also added a new feature that lets users check about rental car reservations. The search engine giant said on Google+, “When you can’t remember whether you’ve booked a car rental for your next work trip-or you simply can’t remember which company you booked with-don’t bother fussing with your email confirmations and just ask Google. Tap the mic on the Google Search app and say “When is my rental car reservation?” If the info is in your Gmail, you’ll see a quick reservation summary including location, pick-up and drop-off time.”

Earlier this month, Google rolled out a new update for its popular Google Now service that offered bill payment reminders to users if they receive bill payment emails on their Gmail accounts.

Prior to this, Google also updated the Search app for Android, bringing the ability to access Google Now cards offline. The Search app now lets users view their Google Now cards even if there is no active Internet connection.
