Glovo Uganda has appointed Ivy Maingi as its new General Manager.

Maingi comes with extensive experience in marketing and management. Her career spans various strategic roles, beginning as an Account Executive at John Gray Communications and later serving as Head of Institutional Retail at Alibhai Sharriff and Sons. She further honed her expertise as a Brand Executive at Scanad before advancing to Account Coordinator and Key Account Manager at Uber Eats in Nairobi, where she distinguished herself in supporting restaurant partners.

In August 2023, Maingi stepped into the role of Head of Commercial for Kenya, where her leadership and innovative strategies quickly earned her accolades. Her outstanding performance paved the way for her current appointment as General Manager of Glovo Uganda in July 2024.

“I am thrilled to lead Glovo Uganda as we aim to elevate our services and expand our footprint in the region,” said Maingi. “I am eager to collaborate with our talented team to drive innovation and deliver exceptional value to our users and partners. By fostering meaningful partnerships and leveraging cutting-edge technology, we will continue to meet the evolving needs of businesses and customers across Uganda.”

Under Maingi’s leadership, Glovo Uganda has expanded its operations to Mukono, an urban city in Uganda, providing more Ugandans with access to its multi-category platform. This expansion has strengthened Glovo’s market presence in Uganda and is a significant step towards realizing its vision of building the largest online marketplace. Maingi’s focus on operational excellence and strategic collaborations will be crucial in driving further growth, delivering unmatched convenience and value to users and businesses alike.
