Glovo is set to host its inaugural E-commerce Day—a groundbreaking event designed to equip SMEs with the tools and strategies they need to succeed in the fast-changing digital economy.

Slated for December 5th, 2024, in Kampala, the event will bring together SME owners, industry experts, Glovo partners, and thought leaders alongside local and international brands to foster innovation, unlock growth opportunities, and drive digital transformation across sectors.

Over 1,000 SMEs across Uganda already leverage Glovo’s platform to expand their reach, optimize operations, and embrace digital solutions that fuel sustainable growth. This event aims to empower even more businesses to thrive in a competitive digital marketplace.

“SMEs are the future of Uganda’s economy. At Glovo, we are committed to helping these businesses overcome logistical challenges, connect with new customers, and embrace the digital transformation shaping industries globally. This event is a celebration of their resilience and our investment in their success,” said Ivy Maingi, General Manager, Glovo Uganda.

Participants can look forward to interactive workshops where they will receive practical strategies to scale businesses, build brands, and streamline operations; gain expert insights and tailored advice on financial literacy, invoicing, and payment cycles; as well as connecting through networking, and much more.

The inaugural Glovo E-commerce Day is a catalyst for growth, equipping SMEs with lasting tools, actionable strategies, and connections to navigate and lead in Uganda’s rapidly evolving e-commerce ecosystem.

Charity Abei, Q-commerce Lead for Glovo Uganda, noted that, “Through Glovo E-commerce Day, we aim to provide SMEs with practical knowledge, actionable tools, and access to scalable solutions. Our goal is to empower entrepreneurs to adapt to digital changes, embrace innovation, and grow sustainably in a competitive market.”

As a major driver of Uganda’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, Glovo bridges gaps in logistics, technology, and market access for SMEs across industries such as food delivery, groceries, retail, and pharmaceuticals. This event underscores Glovo’s mission to position SMEs at the forefront of Uganda’s digital transformation, empowering businesses to thrive sustainably.
