In a recent revelation, popular Ugandan band musician Hon. Geofrey Lutaaya shared that he was the first person to allow Pastor Wilson Bugembe to perform for a secular audience.
Speaking about this milestone during his forthcoming concert, Lutaaya who is also the Member of Parliament for Kakuuto explained how he recognized Pastor Bugembe’s unique talent and gave him the platform to perform, despite being a gospel artist.
This decision marked the beginning of Pastor Bugembe’s connection with secular audiences.
Unlike most pastors, Pastor Bugembe is widely regarded as a special personality. He has built a reputation for bridging the gap between gospel and secular communities.
Known for his music and ministry, Pastor Bugembe often performs at secular concerts and attends events outside traditional gospel circles.
Additionally, he is celebrated for his inclusive nature, regularly inviting and hosting secular musicians at his church.
This approach has helped him build strong relationships with both gospel and secular artists, creating a unique space for collaboration and unity in Uganda’s music industry.
Geoffrey Lutaaya’s acknowledgment sheds light on how Pastor Bugembe’s journey to becoming a household name in music was influenced by early support from secular industry players.
