Gaetano Jjuko Kagwa who was Uganda’s Big Brother Africa representative in the first edition of the most watched African reality show that started in 2003 shared his views about replicating the show in Uganda. He was hosted on Desert Island Discs on Capital FM last evening where he shared his past life, present and future.
When the former M-net Studio 53 show host was asked whether it is possible to start a Ugandan version of Big Brother, he clearly stated that this will never be possible due to the disorganization of Ugandans. He noted that the level of organization and the number of connections that the producers of the show have is a big factor that has contributed to the immense success of the show continent wide.
“I don’t think we can have our own Big Brother show in Uganda any time soon. Those guys are very organized and know what they are doing very well. You have to be very connected and organized to pull off such a show,” the Capital FM presenter stated.
Gaetano who has been to Big Brother Africa, Big Brother UK and Big Brother Nigeria is very knowledgeable about the game and how it works, he also revealed that he would never go back to the house unless there is a new twist.
“I can never return to the house as it is now. I love new challenges. I could consider going for Big Brother Universe given the opportunity because it is bigger than what I have already seen,” he said.
The Zone 7 Bar/Restaurant Director and owner who has worked in Kenya for some time revealed that his relationship with Abbey – the South African housemate that he met in the house came to an end after a year of dating. He informed listeners that he is now married to his wife and the two are living happily.
When asked about his future plans in the next 10 years, the Radio/TV Presenter and Emcee said that he would like to build a good family and enjoy life with his wife and kids.
