The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has suspended FLS Board chairman Hajji Abbas Kaawaase Mukasa from any football activities of the association and also summoned him to the disciplinary committee.
The development follows reports that FSL boss wrote a letter last week calling off the Uganda Premier League, a step that the federation claims is beyond his jurisdictions hence violating the FUFA statutes, FUFA Regulations, Circulars, the FSL LTD statutes and FSL LTD Articles of Association according to the federation’s communication.
Here are the resolutions by the federation’s emergency committee as reads on the governing body’s website:
“1. The Uganda Premier League Secretariat headed by the Chief Executive Officer Mr. Bainamani Bernard will continue running the League. The UPL secretariat shall report directly to the FUFA Chief Executive Officer.
2. Under the circumstances, FSL roles as provided for in the Uganda Premier League Regulations 2014/2015 are hereby recalled.
3. FUFA shall ensure fulfillment of the contractual obligations of FUFA and FSL Ltd to Azam Pay TV subject to the laws of the Republic of Uganda.
4. That the Azam Uganda Premier League shall continue as per the fixture.
5. Uganda Premier League clubs to disregard the letter written by the hitherto Chairman FSL board on 20th February 2015 purportedly ‘suspending’ the League by honouring the fixture schedule as the league continues and rules still in force”.
