The Federation of Uganda Football Association has promised the entire Uganda Cranes Squad a staggering Ugx 1 billion should they qualify for the 2017 AFCON finals in Gabon on Sunday when they take on Comoros at Namboole Stadium.
The promise in which each player and technical staff will walk away with $10,000 was made by the federation’s president Eng. Moses Magogo on Thursday evening during the players’ dinner at Serene Suites in Mutundwe.
“You have been excellent throughout the campaign. Now, we are remaining with the only one match. Let us use the teamwork and commitment to ensure qualification,” Eng. Magogo said as he applauded and cautioned the players.
“We have settled all the outstanding arrears throughout the campaign and an additional $10,000 has been promised to each of the players and members of the technical team if we qualify to Gabon 2017,” he added.
Uganda Cranes take on Comoros on Sunday 4th September at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole with a chance to end their 39 year old jinx of not qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nation’s finals.
Only a victory and nothing less can guarantee the Cranes a spot in the Gabon finals.
