The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) is planning to secure Uganda Cranes a friendly game before the team clashes with Togo in their third match of Group E. Just after Uganda celebrates independence, the Uganda Cranes will host Togo at Namboole on 11th October, 2014 in the CAF 2015 AFCON qualifiers.
Inside sources anonymously revealed that FUFA is looking for a West African country to give Uganda a good challenge in a match build up for the Cranes before they play Togo. West African countries like Ivory Coast, Gabon, Burkina Faso and Mali have been put into the federation’s consideration for this matter.
Recently after the Ghana clash that ended in 1-1 draw, FUFA president Eng. Moses Magogo said that the Cranes friendly game against Niger in which they lost 2-0 to the hosts helped them (Cranes) to prepare very well for the West African giants Ghana therefore want to use the same tactic before taking on Togo.
Early this week, Cranes head coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic revealed that the team is most likely to start preparations for the game with local league based players to be in camp as early as next week.
Uganda Cranes lead group E after two games with four points same as second placed Ghana but with a better goal difference. Guinea Bissau are third with three points while Togo are in the bottom table with no point.
