Under the presidency of Eng. Moses Magogo, the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has opened up a radio station in a bid to boost the federation’s communication to the masses. The new station is called “FUFA radio” and will be airing on a 102.1 frequency with about 80km of coverage for the start.

The development was made known yesterday by the federation president during the weekly press conference at the FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala.
“102.1 FUFA Radio will essentially educate, inform, entertain and help in the promotion of FUFA Commercial purposes and the game. The radio operations take immediate effect. The acquisition of the media platform will help us position our brand to the masses beyond what happens on the football pitch,” Magogo told the media.
Resolutions to start a radio were agreed upon during the FUFA assembly that took place in Lira last year and the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) is said to have funded the project..
“The project comes after the world’s football governing body-FIFA offered each of the 209 national federations a financial offer from the revenue fetched from the 2014 World Cup. FUFA has already started recruiting personnel for the new establishment Radio 102.1 FM,” reads a statement on the federation’s website.
